Baltimore Medical System runs health clinics in several Baltimore City public schools, offering care where students already are. These clinics provide check-ups, vaccines, sports physicals, treatment for minor illnesses, mental health support, and education on topics like nutrition, relationships, and substance use. Services are youth-friendly, and students can get care during the school day without needing to leave campus. These clinics are for students enrolled at the participating schools.

The Belair-Edison Family Health Center offers primary care, family planning, OB/GYN services, and a full-service pharmacy. This community-based clinic serves patients of all ages, including teens, and offers support for routine care, reproductive health, and chronic conditions. The health center is part of Baltimore Medical System and accepts most insurance plans.

HCAM’s Care Coordination Program (CCP) is an outreach program that provides short-term care coordination services to Baltimore City residents who are covered by Maryland’s Medicaid Managed Care Program, HealthChoice. This program educates clients about health benefits, help them resolve issues with their providers, link them to their HealthChoice managed care organization or primary or specialty care providers, and refer them to long-term case management services.
This community-based clinic in Baltimore combines primary care, STD/sexual health, and OB/GYN services—all in one welcoming, inclusive spot. They also offer HIV testing and treatment, LGBTQ care, mental health support, pharmacy services, and more. Insurance is accepted, and sliding-scale options are available if you don’t have insurance.

HealthCare Access Maryland (HCAM) helps people across Maryland get health insurance and connect with the care they need. They support kids, pregnant women, youth in foster care, people facing homelessness, substance use challenges, and more. HCAM offers help with behavioral health services, care coordination, and special programs like MATCH, which makes sure kids in foster care get medical, dental, and mental health care.

The Healthy Teens & Young Adults Clinic offers medical services for youth ages 10–24, focusing on reproductive health, family planning, STD/HIV testing and treatment, pregnancy testing, contraception (including IUDs and implants), breast and cervical health exams, substance use and mental health screening with referrals, health education, and counseling. Services are provided on a sliding-scale fee—no one is turned away for inability to pay, and insurance is accepted.

HEBCAC Youth Opportunity Center (HEBCAC-YO) is a program in East Baltimore that helps out-of-school youth and young adults aged 18-24 get back on track with education, counseling, and career training. They offer GED classes, career training in fields like healthcare, hospitality, and construction, and life skills workshops. The center also connects you to other services, like housing and healthcare, to help you succeed academically and professionally.

Loving Arms, Inc. is a 501 (c) (3) community based organization located in Baltimore City, Maryland. We provide short term, safe and nurturing shelter and supportive services (both residential and non-residential) to unaccompanied, homeless children, and young adults, age 12 to 24. These children are known as throwaways, runaways, homeless, or unstably housed children, many who are victims of human and Domestic Minor Sex Trafficking (DMST).

MCHP Premium helps kids and teens up to age 19 get full health coverage if they don’t qualify for Medicaid and don’t have insurance. It’s for families with incomes up to 300% of the federal poverty level. Kids enrolled get care through special health plans called Managed Care Organizations.

CMS is a program of the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. CMS can help low-income, uninsured or underinsured Marylander’s ages 0-21 years get specialty care for a chronic illness or disability by paying for needed services. CMS can pay for many different kinds of services, such as visits to a specialist, hospitalizations, surgeries, medications, therapies, lab work, x-rays, and medical equipment. CMS does not cover routine check-ups or immunizations, sick visits, emergency services, routine dental care, or mental health services.

Maryland Health Connection is the state’s official health insurance marketplace for individuals and families to compare and enroll in health insurance. It helps individuals and families find the right plan and check if they qualify for Medicaid or other help like tax credits to make insurance more affordable.
The Maryland Healthy Smiles Dental Program (MHSDP) provides dental care to anyone with full Medicaid coverage. Medicaid covers a wide range of dental services. A benefits management company runs the program for Medicaid. There are no premiums, deductibles, or copays for covered services. There is no maximum benefit amount each year. MHSDP members should never pay for covered services out of pocket.
Maryland InfoPortal is the best place for finding financial and non-financial assistance offered by Maryland state government agencies.
Medicaid (also called Medical Assistance) helps pay medical bills for people with low income. It covers things like doctor visits, hospital care, prescriptions, and mental health services. You can apply anytime through Maryland Health Connection, and it’s open year-round. If you’re pregnant, under 19, or meet certain income guidelines, you might qualify.

PrEP is for YOUth is a program at the Center for Adolescent and Young Adult Health at the Johns Hopkins Harriet Lane Clinic. They educate, provide clinical services, and community outreach to young people ages 13-25 years old about pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) and other ways to stay on top of their sexual health.

The Adolescent & Young Adult Center at the University of Maryland Medical Center offers primary care, reproductive health, and testing and treatment for STIs—all in a youth-friendly, hospital-based setting. Services support young people ages 12–24 and include routine check-ups, chronic illness care, sports or camp physicals, family planning (including long-acting birth control), STI screening, cancer screenings, and HIV counseling, testing, and treatment. They also provide specialized transgender health care and support for youth living with or at risk for HIV through the STAR TRACK program.
