The Baltimore Abortion Fund (BAF) is a mutual aid, grassroots, nonprofit organization that provides financial assistance and practical support to people who live in or travel to Maryland for abortion care. BAF operates a confidential helpline (443-853-8445) where our case managers make financial commitments to help callers pay for their procedures, as well as provide information on how to access abortion care. BAF provides financial commitments to cover a portion of the caller’s abortion care. Our case managers refer callers to area health clinics that provide reproductive health services. BAF provides practical support like transportation, accommodations, and translation services, to remove barriers to abortion care.

The Office of Youth and Trauma Services works to prevent and mitigate exposure to violence and trauma for youth ages 11-24 years. This is accomplished through implementation of evidence based public health and human service models, and collaboration with community, youth and families. Their focus includes school-based violence prevention and intervention, suicide prevention, trauma informed care and mental health first aid training, and victim services.

Our caring and knowledgeable staff provides: on site GED and pre-GED classes; individual and group counseling; career training in high growth industries (such as healthcare, hospitality, and construction); life skills workshops and clubs and other fun social activities. Mentoring Male Teens in the Hood is a group mentoring program serving Kings between the ages of 8 and 18 who live in the Baltimore Metropolitan area since 1996 where education, speakers, trips, sporting events, health forums, conflict resolution, STD and AIDS workshops, and real conversations about the ‘Hood’ come together to build strong Kings and prepare them to compete in a society that too often allows them to slip through the cracks. The program has real life conversations about topics that impact our community.

Sisters Together and Reaching, Inc. (STAR) is a 501(c) 3, non-profit, federally recognized, Community-Based/Faith-Based Organization. Created to address inequities in services to African American women and their families living with HIV/AIDS in Baltimore City, STAR has provided support services to HIV infected people in the Baltimore metropolitan area since 1991.
STAR is located in the heart of Baltimore City. Its primary facility is situated in a predominately low income African American community where HIV/AIDS and other STIs such as syphilis, gonorrhea, Chlamydia, HPV, and herpes, and other diseases are prevalent and complicated by substance abuse, domestic violence, crime, poverty, unemployment, substandard housing and a multitude of other social ills.
