Family Violence Prevention & Services at Family & Youth Services Bureau
The Family Violence Prevention and Services Program administers the federal Family Violence Prevention and Services Act (FVPSA), the primary funding source for emergency shelters and related services for victims of domestic violence and their children. Its programs include Resource Centers, State Domestic Violence Coalitions, and support through the National Domestic Violence Hotline. FVPSA-funded initiatives provide crisis intervention, safety planning, and connection to local resources for families experiencing domestic violence.
