Biophysics Research for Baltimore Teens (BRBT) is a competitive, paid summer internship program that gives Baltimore City high school students hands-on experience in biomedical and biophysics research at Johns Hopkins University. Students work in a high-tech teaching lab and research labs alongside instructors, undergraduates, graduate students, and faculty, building skills in microbiology, DNA and protein engineering, and scientific problem-solving. The program is designed to build confidence, provide mentorship, and support pathways to college and careers in biomedical science. BRBT partners with YouthWorks and the Johns Hopkins Summer Jobs Program for application, onboarding, and payment.
