Job Corps
Job Corps is the largest career training and education program in the country for people ages 16 to 24. Job Corps is a free education and training program that helps young people learn a career, earn a high school diploma or GED, and find and keep a good job. Maryland has 2 Job Corps locations: Woodland Job Corps Center and Woodstock Job Corps Center. Other locations exist across the country – each with a variety of training in over 100 hight growth occupations.
- Students receive hands-on training in more than 100 career areas in fields such as Construction, Business and Finance, Health Care, and Information Technology. They can also participate in on-the-job training at real work sites through work-based learning opportunities.
- In the academic classroom, students have the opportunity to earn a high school diploma or high school equivalency credential, and learn employability and independent-living skills.
