Young Mariners Program at Downtown Sailing Center (DSC)

The Young Mariners program is an 8-week paid summer opportunity for Baltimore City high school students eligible through YouthWorks to learn sailing, build leadership and workplace skills, and work toward a US Sailing Basic Keelboat certification — all while earning a paycheck. Participants spend most days on the water developing hands-on sailing experience, teamwork, job readiness skills, and confidence with support from trained instructors. The program provides books, safety gear, and stipends to help with travel and lunch costs, making it accessible and rewarding for teens who want to learn, lead, and succeed.
