Maryland Suspension Representation Project (MSRP)
The Maryland Suspension Representation Project (MSRP) helps students and families by providing free legal advice and representation when young people are facing school suspension or expulsion. MSRP is a partnership of organizations including the Public Justice Center, Disability Rights Maryland, the Office of the Public Defender, and the Youth, Education, and Justice Clinic at the University of Maryland School of Law, and works to protect students’ rights so they can stay in school and succeed. The project also offers “know your rights” information and trainings to help youth and parents understand school discipline procedures and appeal options. Services are free, and help is available by calling their intake line.
