The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), formerly called Food Stamps, helps low-income individuals and families buy the food they need to stay healthy. SNAP provides monthly benefits that can be used at grocery stores and markets to purchase nutritious food.

Anyone with a low income can apply to see if they qualify. There’s no cost to apply, and everyone has the right to check their eligibility.
