Center for Urban Families (CFUF)
CFUF maintains an unwavering focus on addressing the key challenges of Baltimore’s urban families by working to connect fathers to their children, creating opportunities for economic and financial security through work, and providing access to other key interventions and supportive services. Our unique service model, Family Stability and Economic Success (FSES), is an integrated and comprehensive approach to addressing the needs of our target population. Services offered through the FSES Model target two critical areas: chronic unemployment and family instability. Programs include:
- Supportive Services – inclusive of case management.
- Economic Success – Pre-employment services to help low-income workers secure employment (STRIVE Baltimore); Job retention and advancement programs to help low-income workers stay employed, advance in the workplace, and move towards family-sustaining wages; Market-driven training and certification programs; Intensive career and family-focused case management; and, through leveraged support; Access to critical work supports and work-related benefits, including transportation subsidies, clothing assistance, and on-site access to a comprehensive supportive service referral system.
- Baltimore Responsible Fatherhood Project – aimed to increase fathers’ emotional and financial support of their children and families by Increasing child support awareness and management; Improving acquisition and demonstration of parenting skills; Increasing healthy relationships and effective communication & Increasing client job readiness and employability.
- Couples Advancing Together (CAT) – Provides healthy relationship skill building, employment assistance, and case management services, to couples with children who currently receive public benefits through the Department of Social Services.
