The Office of Youth and Trauma Services works to prevent and mitigate exposure to violence and trauma for youth ages 11-24 years. This is accomplished through implementation of evidence based public health and human service models, and collaboration with community, youth and families. Their focus includes school-based violence prevention and intervention, suicide prevention, trauma informed care and mental health first aid training, and victim services.

The motto is No Hooks before Books as this organization combines academic development and athletic training under one roof. While boxing is an exciting draw and integral part of the program, academic development is the paramount goal.The No Hooks Before Books Afterschool Program is a free afterschool program that provides 2 hours of homework help and mentorship and 1 hour of boxing training.
