We provide construction training and certifications, assistance in earning a high school diploma or GED, and job placement services. Civic Works strengthens Baltimore communities through education, skills development, and community service. We are a non-profit working in Baltimore communities for over 20 years, and we are deeply committed to service.

HEBCAC Youth Opportunity Center (HEBCAC-YO) is a program in East Baltimore that helps out-of-school youth and young adults aged 18-24 get back on track with education, counseling, and career training. They offer GED classes, career training in fields like healthcare, hospitality, and construction, and life skills workshops. The center also connects you to other services, like housing and healthcare, to help you succeed academically and professionally.

The FoodWorks Program offers a fresh start to low-income individuals with 12-weeks of intense culinary training. Students learn basic cooking skills while converting fresh produce and other perishable foods into healthy meals for distribution to those in need. Over the course of 12-weeks, students participate in a curriculum that includes fundamental culinary techniques, nutrition, menu planning and job-seeking skills.

The League offers a wide range of services to assist youth in discovering interests & abilities, setting realistic goals, and preparing for and securing employment. Utilizing a supported employment philosophy, we promote the achievement of independence for each of our participants. Through the use of technology, individual support and person-centered planning, our program has placed individuals in a wide array of successful employment opportunities. Services offered include Career Assessment, Employee Development Services, and Employment Services including Job Development, Job Placement, Job Coaching and On-Going Supports.
